Lets cut through the chase .... he was here to see how can GOOGLE exploit low cost technical labor here inspite of the War, Loadshedding, Corruption lack of infrastructure .........
Today Venture Capitalist in US asks for India Centric Technology Development plan within their Business Plan. India's cost is rising fast and highly skilled people are charging the same as in USA. I informed VC that I have Pakistan Centric Technology Development plan.
I can't believe how low cost it is here and wondering why I did not do this earlier on this technology development initiative.
Regardless, I want to warn people reading this e-mail not to work for someone but learn to work for themselves. Look into Intellectual Property Ownership rights before signing on to anything. The Government must formulate a policy. (if they are awake .....yeah ...Good Luck) otherwise imagine the Sharks are circling for a freebite.
For Example:
Pakistan is 3rd or 4th country importing most Corollas in the World. If the Government knew how to place the card right they could have created 10,000 or more high paying jobs (technology transfer and manufacturing plants) rather than what we have today. So let us not pay for the same mistake.
Good Luck
Asif

Dear Wahaj,
Thank you for sharing the post which is a very honest account of our current state-of-affairs. I am sure his visit will bring more attention to their operations in Pakistan.
Best regards

We recommended him that Google should increase its footprint and visibility in Pakistan by establishing a full office and provide technical guidance, training, etc., to young entrepreneurs.Eric was carrying a blackberry and a young tech entrepreneur, Haris, asked him why he wasn't using an Android phone. He said that his android phone was having roaming issues in Pakistan and Afghanistan (and perhaps in some other countries), that's why he was carrying a blackberry!Mian Mansha gave Eric and his Google colleagues a very positive insight on capabilities of Pakistani people and a bright future of Pakistan. His punch line was "after 30 years, Americans would be lining up to get visas for Pakistan".Kind regards….WahajFrom: pakgrid@yahoogroups.com [mailto:pakgrid@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Shiraz Bashir
