I'll be going through Kilgore in a couple of days and could stop at RTC if it would help any. I'm not sure what sort of information they would give me, if any.

Any information about RTC would be helpful. Currently near Houston, TX and was considering going to Kilgore to turn my system back on, Was on suspension when MotoSat died and have not had the system on. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Safe Travels!

In the past two years I have been able to converse with them by phone a
number of times about account activation and suspension. I am usually
witched to a tech who has always been very helpful. I only go month to month
the with then and suspend for about nine months. They do apply a fee to do
this and I can only suspend for six months and then have to activate for a
month and then go back on suspension again. Of course the monthly cost is
higher for me for the two or three months/year I use the Hughes/RTC service
but at least I can get service.

FYI, I do carry a spare modem as I had one fail about six years ago and
having connectivity is a necessity to be on the road.

I was told they will no longer do month-to-month ... it would be good to
know if this is true!

I guess I will find out in Mid June when I reactivate. I had to pay and come
back on line for a month in March then suspend again. That is when I last
talked to the tech for clarification of going back on suspension right after
that month.

I really don't get hung up in the monthly cost the way we use it.
Connectivity in the mountains is mandatory working from the road. Its worth
it to us to come off and go back on suspension for a month.
