Question || Using WIFI to solve congestion?
Posted by: "Leo Pedrini" leopedrini@yahoo.com leopedrini
Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:22 am (PST)
Hello,
I received a question from a friend, and would like to get some advice from you experts...
This is the scenario:
===================== ========= ========= ========= ========= ==
In Telecommunication, a company is using macro and micro cells to transmit data through boradband.
But since lot of users are using data using the the channel, it is congested and bring capacity problem to accomodate all users.
Now it seems, there is an idea of using WIFI.
That means if there is congestion and high traffic, can we use separate network just for data channel by using wifi sites nearby.
If not mistaken, each wifi site needs to be within radius of 500m between each other.
And AP can do 3 3 hops using mesh network.
So the question: Does anybody have any idea about:
I. PHS Network in Japan
II. MPLS-TP
III. Mesh network - it seems that the AP can do 3 hops
IV. SSID
V. 8022.11.N
VI. Can we do VOIP using wifi?
It seems for now, UTStar is doing it in China (www.utstar.com)
===================== ========= ========= ========= ========= ==
Any help/comment will be appreciated.
