Regards, Wasif Tanveer (wasif.tanveer@kics.edu.pk) Sr. Research Associate/Software Engineer Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore Dear Recipient, We are pleased to inform that Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore is organizing a four weeks training program on "Android Mobile Application Development" from 16 November 2011 (Wednesday & Friday, 4-7pm). Android is the fastest growing mobile platform having 43% market share worldwide till second quarter 2011. It is an open-source mobile platform, based on the Linux kernel. Because of Android's open-source license, there are virtually numerous opportunities in software development for the platform. This hands-on course encourages students/professionals to learn building increasingly more sophisticated and meaningful mobile applications for Android. This course includes complete understanding of Android application life-cycle, testing, and introduction to game development. Participants will also learn to publish their applications in Android market. Upon the completion of this course, each participant will be able to build their own Android application, incorporating most of the key aspects of the platform. Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, UET Lahore has been conducting research and development projects in mobile space for few years now. It is selected by Infodev/Worldbank as regional center for mobile application development and training. It is the main implementation partner of the consortium that won mLab Asia grant. KICS has also won national and international funding for research and innovation in mobile application development for security, health, agriculture, and language localization. We therefore would like to extend our invitation for the training to be held in Seminar Hall, Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, from 16 November 2011.
