Course DS/CDMA System, Implementation and Issues
Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET Lahore is an institute of applied research in the general area of information and communication technologies. It accentuates collaborations with industries, international research and academic organizations. Presently KICS-UET aspires to offer a training course on CDMA systems, implementation and research issues in the same context.
Code division multiple access ( CDMA) communication has received a lot of attention because of it being the underlying access method used in various state of the art communication systems. Although such systems have not been used in most of the technologies currently deployed in Pakistan, their importance in the international arena makes their understanding very important. In addition, the imminent 3G license in Pakistan will make this technology more important. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Abbas whois associate professor at Retsumekin Asia Pacific University Japan, has several international publications in this field,is offering a short course on DS/CDMA systems. Recently he is visiting KICS as foreign faculty professor. He will conduct the subject training course. The course will follow a system simulation approach and will discuss the theory and implementation of a generic CDMA system. The course will also briefly discuss some multiuser detection techniques and some research issues will also be introduced.
