Have you tried a MiFi or other similar cell phone based internet?
No I have not but was told that it is much faster and I am worried about how many GB is needed to do e-mail, web site and surf the web, I do not download movies or music only software updates.
I've got a USB 4G stick with an AT&T SIM card in it
Do you find that the 4GB is enough? I was looking at Verizon MiFi 5GB for $50.00 month and I do not have a spare USB port.
We also have a Motosat Datastorm F1 dish.
I also have the F1-D3 with Direct TV and will use the F1 for TV only.
At this time we spend the summer in southern OR and the winter in AZ and plan to sell the Motor Home this winter due to health issues and get a park model then we will need the MiFi as the F1 will go with the MH. Thanks for the input.

This solution works anywhere there is cell phone service and works going down the road, so my wife and family can be connected while we are driving. It's also often faster than the satellite connection.

Don, that is the service that I have as your FAP Monitor reads 425. I am not a heavy downloader mostly software updates and some YouTube. I do a Club web site and e-mail and my own e-mail and the web.

Most of us with Datastorms are on 425MB per day, which is 12.75GB per 30-day month, but that ignores the 5 hours per night of unlimited. It is possible to get many, many GB more during that period if you are a heavy downloader.

You can always go to http://customercare.myhughesnet.com/frm_usage.cfm and look at more than a month's worth of usage to total up what you actually use.
In many cases you will find a MiFi (or other cellular) to be much faster, and at least for me that means I tend to do more with it. I still have an unlimited Android account with Verizon, which I tether to my computer, and I know I tend to go hog-wild when I have good 4G service!
