Please read the below information, TiE Islamabad has launched the All Asia Business Plan competition in Pakistan, last year the winner walked away with a prize money of USD 650 k. 

Pakistani startups, professionals and student must participate in this competition as this may bring equity partnerships, mentoring, possible collaborations and if nothing else, a lot of exposure and the huge prize money.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Islamabad Chapter , in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC)  and MIT Enterprise Forum of Pakistan, is pleased to launch local leg of  All-Asia Business Plan Competition (AABPC), an international program designed in conjunction with the Rice University Business Plan Competition to give local entrepreneurs and graduate-level university students in Asia a real-world experience to fine tune their business plans and elevator pitches to be able to generate funding to successfully commercialize their product and launch their StartUps. The event gives an opportunity to Entrepreneurs, Professionals, Faculty members and Students to compete together as a team.

The Chapters are hosting local competitions (level 1) in their community, after reaching out to local universities and others (Entrepreneurs and Professionals) for prospective participants.  The participants of Chapter Competition will receive mentoring from TiE mentors and winners will be invited to addional mentoring sessions prior to Asian Finale in New Delhi.

The All-Asia Finals (level 2) will be hosted by TiE Delhi and the winner will have a guaranteed spot at the Rice University Business Plan Competition (level 3), to be held on April 12-14, 2012 in Houston, Texas. The winners of the Delhi Finals will receive mentoring and coaching by TiE mentors and advisors prior to entering the competition at Rice.

Team composition may consist of Students, Professionals, Entreprenuers and Faculty Members. Atleast one member of the team should be University Graduate Level Student.

The Rice University Business Plan Competition:

The RBPC is the richest and largest intercollegiate business plan competition in the world today. The RBPC competition is hosted and organized by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Rice University's globally recognized initiative devoted to the support of entrepreneurship, and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business.

The RBPC Competition will be entering its 12th year in 2012, and is expected to garner even more momentum in terms of number of applications, as well as prize money, which is expected to exceed last year's $1.5 million.

To date, the Rice Alliance has assisted in the launch of more than 300 companies that have raised more than $1 billion.

Rewards: 

1.     Prizes in excess of $1.5 million

2.     Additional prizes for elevator pitch and company showcase

3.     2011 had the first team walk away with $6,41,600 worth of rewards including $350,000 investment


Level (1): Rs. 100,000 each for two winners (Courtesy: CyberVision International and Quantum GeoServices) and Rs. 50,000 each for two runner ups (by TiE Islamabad)
