Newcastle University is committed to offering support to the very best international students hoping to pursue a programme of research. We are pleased to offer a small number of University funded ORS awards for outstanding international students who apply to commence PhD studies in any subject in 2013/14. Each award (value approximately £5,000 to £9,000 per annum) covers the difference between fees for UK/EU students and international students.

Avondale International Merit Scholarship 2013
Avondale International Merit Scholarship 2013, Australia
Avondale is committed to nurturing students who excel in academic achievement, music and fine arts, mission outreach, sporting achievement and student leadership. Four International Merit Scholarships are available to international students who qualify and enrol in one of Avondale's undergraduate or Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. The Avondale International Merit Scholarship 2013 is available for one semester or two consecutive semesters of study. It is worth up to $3,000 AUD ($1,500 per semester).

This scholarship is offered to international applicants for BU postgraduate degrees beginning in September 2013 and January 2014. You will be eligible to apply for a BU International Postgraduate Scholarship if you can demonstrate an outstanding academic profile relevant to your course. An outstanding academic profile is one which is considered to be equivalent to a UK 1st class Honours degree as assessed by NARIC.

If however you encounter unforeseen financial difficulties, you should first consult your college graduate tutor, as soon as possible. In genuine cases of unforeseeable hardship they will evaluate the magnitude and merit of the problem and may seek help from other funding bodies on your behalf.
