[pakgrid] Big Data Analysis Course at FAST-NU (Karachi)

Assalamoalaikum,

Big Data is a hyped term these days in the international corporate sector (particularly USA and UK), signalling those massive data sets which are too voluminous to be stored and analyzed by traditional RDBMS, Data warehousing or Data mining techniques.

Big Data Analysis (BDA) is a state-of-the-art and crucial requirement which involves the application of novel storage structures and methodologies to extract interesting information from big data, which can assist top-level managers in lucrative decision-making processes (business intelligence).

Notwithstanding the many critics of BDA, it continues to flourish and develop at an amazing rate. Harvard Business Review had it's main article on taming Big Data in its October 2012 issue (http://hbr.org/2012/10/big-data-the-management-revolution/ar/1

Universities in USA have recently started offering courses on it, North Carolina, Stanford and Northwestern (http://data-informed.com/data-informeds-map-of-big-data-analytics-university-programs-2/)

I am glad to announce that, with the support of online information and many blogs on Big Data, I am currently offering a course on BDA (along with predictive analytics) at FAST-NU (Karachi).

If anyone would like to contribute in any way to this course, I would be more than glad, e.g., regarding course contents, particular applications which someone has worked on, latest open-source technologies etc. Kindly send me a private email in this case.

Thanking you for your time and cooperation.
