Greetings All,

I would like to add for Mr. Mahmood and new folks, that we welcome them to this area of Internet, Let say that  Asia and Pakistan has contributed a lot to IPv6, I myself as Pakistanit have contributed in Ipv6 since day 1 from IGF, to .Asia. HEC work is good step as pointed out by Dr. Adeel, NUST conducted IPv6 test last year also PTCL conducted Test.

NUST held awareness seminars, and I during my visit  also spoke as key note speaker, and based on this lecture till to-date student and research working on Ipv6 around the world contact us, see

SEECS-NUST seminar: Migration to IPv6: A User's Perspective part 1

The open house is a wonderful event, people must attend to find good resource from NUST, Inshallah I will again try this very to participate from my busy schedule.

Thanks & Regards

Dear All,

HEC has initiated a national IPv6 testbed, under which they have provided hardware and IPv6 addresses. NUST-SEECS being one of the participant in the testbed has participated in the global IPv6 Launch this year and have moved our website to IPv6 permanently. Check here and here.

We have also participated in the world IPv6 day last year in collaboration with Cyber net and IPv6 task force Pakistan. (Thanks to Aftab Siddiqui sb).

As far as IPv6 services and implementation, we have IPv6 services enabled at the school and have installed IPv6 hotspots around the school. Users can connect to IPv6 internet and browse IPv6 sites. Our ITS team (led by Mr. Ajmal) can help if someone/university wants help in this regard.

In the research and development side we have developed many utilities and firmwares for smooth transition to IPv6. If you are in  Islamabad or near by,  I invite you to see the demos at NUST SEECS Open house arranged on 20/06/12

In my opinion it is the right time to create IPv6 awareness, start using it and work towards a smooth transition.

Best regards,

Adeel Baig, PhD
Assistant Professor,
NUST SEECS, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Hi Majid,
Its been there for many years in Pakistan as well in bits. How can you contribute? well ask your university if they have enabled IPv6 in the labs? There is no rocket science involved init NUST SEECS did it long time ago.

HEC should have done something for this day, I'm not sure what are they doing?

Well great to hear from UET :) Great work from them...

Aoa,

I wanted to ask about IPv6. What are we doing as residents of Pakistan? Is it coming here as well?  Found this web link : http://www.internetsociety.org/world-ipv6-launch-resources

What is your opinion and how can we possibly contribute?
