Supervisory Responsibilities Yes

Position Summary
• Manage the network performance of the entire operations on a daily,
weekly and monthly basis and recommend actions for performance improvement.
• Manage Operations Resources and ensure OPEX and CAPEX are well tracked
and within limits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure that daily network, fuel, vehicle and cost performance reports
are produced and deviations to set targets are interrogated and addressed
promptly.
2. Ensure that the entire operations team fully understand the client's
Service Level Agreement (SLA) and consider the terms of the SLA in their
day to day operations.
3. Prepare Monthly Preventive Maintenance Loop Plan and Site Refuelling
Plan and ensure that the plans are faithfully executed.
4. Keep a close track on network cost and compare actual vs. budgeted and
take action to address variances.
5. Identify competence gaps in team and work closely with the HR Manager to
close on the gaps. This must include training for new network equipment
also.
6. Ensure that reasonable quantities of spares are available and well
managed across the maintenance regional offices for both regular servicing
and event maintenance.
7. Produce weekly network performance reports to advice clients on areas
for action with the aim of maintaining a healthy network and in readiness
for performance review meetings.
8. Develop processes and procedures that will enhance operations
efficiencies across the network and after monitor their implementation and
impact.
9. Ensure that tools of work and including health and safety tools are
provided for the operations team.
10. Take overall responsibility for all network management tools and these
include NMC, Network Management, Site Management and performance management
tools.

11. In cases where the client has installed energy cost savings solutions
in its network, ensure that the savings targeted is tracked and maintained.
Deviations must be discussed with the client immediately.
12. Work closely with the Group on network solutions that could help
address some of the network needs of the client and communicate such
solutions to the client alongside the Business Development Manager for
possibly trial.
13. Identify areas in which network performance undermines cost and
client's expectations and report same for actions to be taken immediately.
14. Perform spot check visits to sites to ensure that sites are well
maintained.

Qualifications and Competence
• He/she must have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a
recognized institution.
• He/she must have worked in a Telecommunications Field Operations
environment and have competence in passive maintenance. Knowledge in active
maintenance will be an added advantage.
• He/she must have a minimum of 3years managerial experience in the
management of passive and/or active network infrastructure in a
telecommunications environment.
• He/she must be able to track key network performance indicators and make
informed decision from them.
• He/she must be able to manage OPEX within agreed budget and also look for
initiatives to bring OPEX down. A working knowledge in finance is required.
• He/she must have knowledge in network operations budget preparation.

• A good listening skill is required for the job.
• Must be able to work towards meeting deadlines.

To perform effectively in this position, the individual should demonstrate

• Must be highly analytic and pay attention to details.
• Must have a knowledge in Project Management
• Must have good knowledge in MS Excel and Power Point
• He must be able to communicate technical issues with reasonable amount of
authority.
