Dont be taken away by media canvassing etc. Even yesterday's attack, which media was showing as if entire Kabul was effected, resulted in little expat casuality. The key point to remember is that, almost always; the target areas are embassies & NATO bases. You wont be going there as per your job requirement, so its not an issue. Even if you do go there, notice that no expat was killed yesterday!

I know Pakistani guys who have been in Afghanistan for more than four years & doing field implementation, & have never received a scratch. North is extremely beautiful & South is overall safe- minus Helmand in nights. No company will ever ask you to be in Helmand in night!

Better go to your home country, get treated & return. There have been several cases when local doctors spoiled simple cases of fever, headache. Try avoiding local doctors as much as possible.

Bad people are in every society. My interaction with locals so far has been extremely good. I dont remember a single instance of dishonesty with me.
