I have worked on some related project, it was digitalization of Islamic books as a software, where user can search the contents. First I worked on detailed text search where we have complete text in a urdu word processor and it worked fine. For other case we have scanned images of book and I decided to go for Catalog Indexing (although this project was not completed due to need some data availability issues yet i had detialed analysis and little implementation).

Thanks for your interest in Library Digitalization project. All of these books are under copy right exclusively and mainly these are in Urdu. Although number of books are in hundreds but we would like to start with small chunk like 100 books as pilot project. Format of these books is Hard copy of that and we need ebook in pdf and .doc and ibook format. These books must not be just scanned copies rather these must have enabled with search optimization. So that a person can search their contents over internet llke Google, Amazon etc.
Site of this project is at Lahore. We can discuss the rest of the detail of project at skype or cell. Just feel free to contact. Whatever best solution I could find, I will go for it, irrespective of the company location.
