My friend,
Sadly, that's precisely what d-e-m-o-c-r-a-c-y* secretly desires: cover-up. Educated people telling the lesser educated ones to, sort of, "close their eyes" and "look elsewhere". I sincerely think that any such sermonizing FOR the status-quo is wrong, and, that is precisely how democracy continues to demolish our institutions and pillage our wealth without fear of reprisal. In my opinion, by becoming apologists of feudal-capitalist democracy, we are, unfortunately, preventing the much over-due house-cleaning.
History: You will know for sure that Greece is the country where the democracy-experiment was conceived. Just last week, ironically, EU declared Greece as having the "most scarce basic necessities, goods and services out of all EU members". That's what happens when you keep incompetent, corrupt and downright dishonest rulers (products of d-e-m-o-c-r-a-c-y?) imposed onto the nation for too long. Unfortunately, more of the same [poison] is never a cure!
Hope: The only hope is: me, you and the people of Pakistan ending the waiting for a false hope and bringing the whole super-structure of feudal-capitalist-democracy down... tearing it apart... so that progress towards a better system of governance may be made. I think the best timely solution is to start in the right direction, take the first step, instead of waiting for false hopes, for, when it comes to developping indigenous governance structures, the journey is part of the destination.
God Speed Pakistani Nation.

I suggest people should go through the United States history around 1900. It was as corrupt if not more than we are today but there were two institutions that steered the country where it is today - Judiciary and (fair) Democratic process which is/was two party system (as us). The big difference was that literacy rate was better than what we have today in Pakistan. Something similar is going on here, if not the next five years but lets hope people realize this in 2018.If you go through leisure history reading you will see when the circumstances are identical ..... outcomes are also identical.
So my dear friend there is hope and this is from someone who is realist - not pessimist or optimist
Asif

This really makes one wonder, "What good has been the revenge-democracy for us, ordinary Pakistani citizens?" Good only for destroying our institutions and our future ... ?
The politicians, the MNA's, the Senators, the political Secretaries, ... all of the current breed of occupants of corridors of Power, these products of democracy, DO NOT CARE.
May be it is time that someone teaches the corrupt and greedy politicians (and their sponsored d-e-m-o-c-r-a-c-y) a lesson, that they so need.
