Dear all,
A peaceful but passionate protest is being organized for the cause of education in Pakistan with one slogan, "Save HEC – Save Pakistan".
The protest march would be held from Islamabad Press Club, F-6, Near Super Market, at 1:00 pm sharp, on Thursday, 06 December 2012, to Parliament, D-Chowk, Islamabad.
Academia, civil society and students in large numbers would join this protest.
Last year, the Government made similar efforts to dislodge HEC but failed due to strong protest from concerned citizens of Pakistan. This year, they are trying to use another back door. We must rise to foil their designs again.
Come one, come all, stand up and be counted. Bring your families and children. Education is our right and no one is allowed to take away this and destroy a top performing institution.
Our demand is very simple. Let HEC be run as per its Ordinance and in light of the ruling of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
When people rise for their rights, no one can stop them.

Dear All, PPP. MQM, ANP and ML (Q) want to report everything jammed to their bosses before end of their horrible tenure. A veritable hand is rising to HEC to thump down the last working institute in Pakistan. Dr Sohail Naqvi is a honest hardworking man bearing good academic career. It is in the best interest of HEC, universities and research scholars to let him continue as ED else HEC will fail to deliver like WAPDA, PIA, Railways, MOST, Nano and Biotech institutes. HEC is the only credit on incumbent's balance sheet which their enemies want them loose before end of their government. I request shrewd bureaucracy to take pity on our innocent politicians. This really makes one wonder, "What good has been the revenge-democracy for us, ordinary Pakistani citizens?" Good only for destroying our institutions and our future ... ? The politicians, the MNA's, the Senators, the political Secretaries, ... all of the current breed of occupants of corridors of Power, these products of democracy, DO NOT CARE.
