The Databases and Hypermedia group at TU Eindhoven seeks
applications for a post-doc/scientific programmer, to begin
immediately. The position is initially for 6 months, with
possibility for extension, and is funded by AgentschapNL, the
Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture, and
Innovation. The position will focus on investigating novel
applications of HCI, semantic web, information retrieval and
information extraction technologies in the context of managing
large unstructured document collections and a co-evolving
knowledge base.
We invite applications from strong candidates with R&D
interests in one or more of these areas. Candidates will, at
minimum, have an MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics,
or other closely related discipline; have strong information
system design and programming skills; have experience in
empirical research (e.g., system design, prototyping and
benchmarking); and, be excited and driven to contribute to
cutting edge research in web-based enterprise information
management systems. Having a PhD in one of these areas is not
required but is a plus.
The work will be carried out together with an experienced team
of computer scientists in a challenging yet supportive research
environment, in collaboration with AgentschapNL. Tasks will
include developing new algorithms and architectures; their
prototyping and analysis; and, scientific publishing of
