On 89W 1270 in Marble Falls, TX, starting about two months ago, I experienced the same thing, It went on mainly in the afternoons for about two weeks but occaisionally in the AM. Lasted for 15 min to several hours. Hughesnet first said it was a bad transmitter, then bad cross pol, and finally that my problem was heat related and my HN7000s was worn out (5 yrs old). Only fix was to go to a 9000 system. I ordered a new 9000 but just before the installer came, everything started working fine and has continued to do so. The problem has occurred once or twice for a short period in the AM but quickly sorts itself out.

It definitely isn't heat related because not long after it all started working again, the daily temps went to 110+ degrees and the only subsequent reoccurences have been when the temps are in the 70s.

I tried rebooting and restarting when I was having issues but tono avail.

No one has been able to offer an explanation as towhy I had this problem.

If you are planing to use hughesnet for another 18 months it might be wise to cancel and sign up with a VAR.  At least with  a VAR you can change sats  a few times a year and not have to pay a dealer to lie about the tree that grew up in front of your Stationary dish. ;) If you decide to change you will have to make sure they will release your modem so it can be recomed by the VAR. If not then you can buy a modem on Ebay from a good source for only 129.00 plus shipping. look it up and you should find the seller....From Nipomo CA.

This is just an option. Not trying to sell you anything.

Thanks. We are supposed to get fiber optics to our home in about another
month, so I guess we'll wait until we see how that works out before we make
some changes. Right now, we use Hughes at our stationary address and take it
with us when we travel. If the fiber optics connection works as claimed, we
probably will only want Hughes 6 months out of the year -- we'll have to
figure that one out!

Thanks again.
