I received the following request from four final year students through Professor Noor Sheikh of the UET electrical department:
Sir,
We, the students of 8thsemester in Electrical Engineering Department, U.E.T, Lahore, are doing our final year project on "Brain-Computer Interfacing". We have acquired the brain signal, observed the brain activity as the result of eye blinks and have detected alpha waves as well. We now wish to proceed further to detect the "P300 Wave", from which we can develop an application to print letters on the screen and operate the computer without any physical activity. For this, we need more electrodes and an advanced EEG cap to observe more channels simultaneously. Until now, we have spent almost 12,650/- PKR to buy the electrodes, gel etc.
Now, our only hope is to find some sponsor from the industry. We have attached the application & quotations for both the expenditures till now, and the estimated expenses to buy further equipment. Source of the quotation is also mentioned from where prices can be verified by looking up the item number.
It would be a great favour if you could help us in this regard.

I have talked with Professor Noor Sheikh and other engineers and physcians here in USA about this project. All of them feel that it is a promising start. The students need to buy additional equipment for about $500.00. They have even provided me a quotation from a vendor. I was also worried that the equipment will go to waste after a single experiment. I have been assured that it will not and subsequent students will carry on this project,
I hope you or your company can support in procurement of the equipment. We had a similar request for equipment three years back from a student, and CISCO system in Pakistan took care of it.
You can send the equipment or funds directly to Pakistan. I can provide the detail instructions by email. However, if you pay US taxes, you can donate funds tax free. Please contact me and I will provide the required information
