I also think its a good idea. Learn any programming language like ASP.NET, SQL e.t.c. Get certification and then you can apply for job in any software house. These languages especially ASP.NET has good scope in Pakistan and abroad.

Dear Usman Khalid,
Please don't loose hope it happens to everyone nowadays. One big reason is that the telecom sector is quite saturated and unfortunately due to lack of R and D there is not much professional growth in telecom sector in Pakistan. The operators are just service providers providing GSM services only. Unfortunately, after working in any operator like Mobilink or Telenor you won't gain much out of it. In case, if you would like to move abroad after sometimes then with the operator's experience , this won't help you because we are not up to date with the technology trends and other people would demand for the skills related to the equipment which they are using.
I strongly recommend you to apply for the jobs related to software/hardware development. There are a lot of software houses who work on telecommunication projects. The projects are mostly related to software development of either any architecture or it could something related to image processing which involves development of codecs etc. As, there are a lot of outsourced companies from USA and Europe who are working here and developing different products. You should target those companies and believe me you will get a job in one month because they always need people and the scope of development is quite big. Moreover, people from these software houses have the possibilities to work abroad because they normally work on latest products and trends. A lot of companies have skill shortage issue in the area of IT so it will be really good for your professional career.
I am just saying all this on behalf of my personal experience. I am also a telecom graduate moreover I have done masters as well. People are saying absolutely right that without reference/sifarish/pawa you can't get in because of this saturated market. I started doing a job in one of the software house and now I am receving much more positive responses even from Abroad. So, I wish you all the best and success for your future.

Dear Usman khalid, to be very honest with you in Pakistan there is no way of getting entry in telecom sector for fresh graduates with out strong reference. I would recommend you to search for it because no one is going to call you with out it. It may take 1-2 weeks if they are interested to hire u.
Telecard, though not a leading name in telecom industry anymore, is a good place in terms of learning and environment is really good. Specially LDI department offers a lot of learning in scope with the LDI job market for further opportunities. While GOCDMA has well passed its prime. Its present is questionable and future seems very uncertain.

*SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS*****
**2. ***For BS-16 posts*, candidates will submit applications *on
prescribed FPSC Application Forms*. Applications may also be submitted
through e-mail or fax but *MUST* be followed by submission of completed
applications so as to reach FPSC Headquarters *within ten(10) days of the
closing date,* failing which any faxed/ e-mailed applications will be
rejected. Any changes in application form will also render a candidate to
rejection.****
**3. ***For posts of BS-17 and above*, *APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE
SUBMITTED ON-LINE*. However, in exceptional cases where any serious
difficulty is experienced in processing the application on-line, candidates
may apply on FPSC Application Forms giving specific reasons why they were
unable to apply on-line. Such applications will be accepted subject to the
genuineness of the reasons rendered. *Applications for such posts submitted
through this method without rendering any reason will be liable to
rejection.*****
**4. ***Submission of Applications On-Line:* For on-line submission of
applications, the comprehensive procedure is available on FPSC website (at
link: APPLYING ON-LINE). On-line submission also has the added advantage of
confirming that a candidate's application has been received and registered
through a computer generated self printed form which has to be signed by
the candidate and dispatched so as to reach FPSC Headquarters within
ten(10) days of closing date.*otherwise all such on-line applications will
be rejected,considering the applicants as invalid candidates.* *In case of

**6. ***Summary rejection due to non-submission of mandatory
documents*All applications (including those submitted on-line) should

accompanied/followed by Original Treasury Receipt (Deposit of Fee),
Departmental Permission Certificate in case of in service candidates, three
attested photographs and attested copies of domicile certificate,
Computerized National identity Card, Matriculation/ Intermediate
Certificates, Bachelor/ Master/ M.Phil/ Ph.D. Degrees with result card
etc., Experience Certificates as per specimen attached with application
form, Copy/Detail of publications as prescribed in the Advertisement. *In
case of non-submission of any of the aforementioned documents, the
application shall be rejected summarily and no appeal or review petition

** i. ***AGE:* ASIDE FROM FIVE YEARS GENERAL
RELAXATION, UPPER AGE LIMIT IS FURTHER RELAXABLE IN THE FOLLOWING CASES: - *

**a. **By *three years* for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes,
Buddhist Community, recognized tribes of the Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir and
Gilgit Baltistan. ****
**b. **By *fifteen years* or the number of years actually served in the
Armed Forces of Pakistan, whichever is less for Released or Retired
Officers/ personnel of the Armed Forces of Pakistan.****
**c. **By *ten years*, up to the age of 55 years for in-service

service on the closing date for receipt of applications.****
**d. **By *five years* for widow, son or daughter of a deceased civil
servant who died during service.****

** ii. ***EXPERIENCE:* MEANS THE

with the written test and call the candidates for interview directly after
determination of their eligibility in terms of advertised conditions.****
**b. **Candidature of the applicants for BS-16 to 19 where number of
applicants is ten(10) or more, will be scrutinized after the written test
and the candidates will be called for interview in the following ratio:-****

candidates per post; for all merit/regional quota posts in BS-19 as well as
merit quota posts in BS-16-18.****
