Data Insight team @ Nokia Research Center North America (Palo Alto/Sunnyvale), is looking for (post)graduate students working on some of the following topics: data mining, machine learning, data intensive computing, human data interaction and data visualization, with deep theoretical knowledge, excellent skills to realize even complex ideas in a simple way via programming, strong problem solving skills, eagerness to apply the knowledge and skills in new contexts, and interest to take the research beyond the first promising results in publications.
The team conducts research in the intersection of distributed systems and algorithms, data mining and machine learning, mobile users and data, and emerging markets and democratization of computing. Team's approach combines the theoretical foundations of data analysis and computer science, real-world data mining, and hands-on skills on rapid development of scalable systems with practical relevance.
