RE: [pakgrid] Pakistan Made PAC PAD

I hope they are also planning to develop successive products with new features to stay competitive in market place. Moreover there has to be some targetted unit sales to justify the economic resources used for developing it.

Most likely most of the components had been imported as there is no facility in Pakistan to make chips or touch screens. Andriod is freely available, so I am just wondering what they really made in Pakistan? Is it made with sufficient robotics to match the productivity of competing manufacturing units in other parts of world? Mass produced consumer products need different manufacturing set up than low volume heavy objects like tanks and planes.

Also I hope it does not break many intellectual property laws possessed by players already in market...

As is popular saying "nothing is right in pakistan", this projects looks like just one another example of it ...

PAC PAD is available in singapore plaza Rawalpindi. Research in the Defence industry, the world over has been responsible for many commercial products. Why limit the defence production capability and capacity to defence products alone? We are selling the Mashaq trainer aircraft, all sorts of weapons and even tanks! The defence production capacity and its spin off, is a a national resource, we must fully utilize it to serve the interests of Pakistan.
