[pakgrid] Hands on Workshop on Multicore Programming at Sir Syed UET Karachi

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is PEC's licensed Professional Engineering Body that authorizes SSUET to conduct Continuous Professional Development or CPD Program for the professional training of PEC's registered engineering professionals. Workshop Abstract
The emergence of multicore hardware cannot be fully exploited until power of all cores is not fully utilized.  The aim of this workshop is to help understand various approaches used for writing applications on multicore processors.  This workshop is meant for students, developers, professionals interested in writing parallel applications for multicore platforms.

Instructor: Dr. Muhammad Ali Ismail, NED University of Engineering and Technology
Dr. Muhammad Ali Ismail received his B.E degree in Computer and Information Systems from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan in 2004. He did his M.Engg in Computer Engineering with specialization in Computer Systems and Design from the same university in 2007. In 2011 he earned his PhD degree in Computer Engineering on his thesis "Design of a parallel multithreaded programming model for multicore processors". His areas of interest include serial, parallel and distributed computer architectures, Shared memory, distributed memory and GPU programming, including generic and specific models and algorithms. He has received first prize Gold medal in all over Pakistan competition for his cluster design. He is a member of IEEE (USA), IET (UK), International Association Engineers, Intel Academic Community, HiPEAC and many others.
