New IT & Telecom Minister Takes Notice of YouTube & 3G Delay

The newly appointed Minister of State for IT & Telecom – Anusha Rehman has taken notice of Youtube blockage and delay in 3G spectrum licensing in Pakistan. As per reports she has scheduled a briefing on the opening of Youtube in Pakistan after placing necessary filters to block the controversial and blasphemous content. Similarly, she asked Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) to give a clear picture on the available spectrum that can be allotted to 3G/4G/LTE networks.

This suggests that soon we will see Youtube getting unblocked and 3G or rather 4G licensing happening in the coming and the filtration mechanism is in place for blocking blasphemous material on social networks.

Youtube is being accessed in Pakistan by using proxy sites and software which are able to create a VPN for accessing the blocked websites but most of the people in Pakistan are still unable to open the website due to lack of expertise in using the proxy sites and software. Telecommunication sector in Pakistan will soon be on a roll out with new passion and vision under the leadership of Anusha Rehman .
