Re: [pakgrid] How Solar Cells are made at home....? Green Energy Awareness Campaign

I would also like to take the liberty to comment on this important topic as Solar Energy attracts me a lot and I did some basic research about its domestic use - though I am not a scientist

As far as my understanding is concerned, the big stumbling block to bring solar into common life is the storage issues - as the use of batteries does not only make it costly but also a bit hassle-some

I am aware of 'reverse metering' or other on-grid concepts - but these things are out of DIY scope and might not be available in Pakistan soon (I wish it comes asap)

so can anyone share their thoughts on how one can make solar viable for urban life? especially keeping in view Pakistani dynamics?

At home if you have the required equipment and some basic knowledge, you can make a cell in working condition but the equipment it self and the assembling process is a little bit difficult. I have read this book in chunks and another DIY book and video, the process seems to be easy but the dealers, arranging solar cells get the most out of you.
