Thanks for sharing about your system. My system is still down on the roof. At first I could get it to go up and search. But nothing now. We are going to be at the FMCA rally in WY. Is there anyone that is going that could help me get online again. I was on 87w until MotoSat the company died.
Thanks for any help or suggestions. We are currently in Page, AZ.
Thanks Von

Alex,

If you get any answers will you share? My MotoSat is down on the roof. This after I sent it to MotoSat in Utah to have repairs done costing $1,300. Still not working correctly. I went to a Verizon 4G mifi. Disconnected Hughes after I tried a new controller D3 and a new modem. I tried Don B software too but it could not find the antenna for a signal. I was on SatMX5 and I understand that is no more. I hate not being able to use it. Very frustrating.

Thanks. It has one bug remaining that affects some 9000 users - 1000MB Allowance is shown as 1.0GB, and the program doesn't understand that.

The only way to test the transmitter is to swap in another known-good transmitter.

However: The transmitter is rarely bad with your symptoms. Extremely common is that the location wasn't passed to the modem from the D2, so it can't range and can't transmit.

Next most common is a bad connector on one of the cables.

Least common is a bad transmitter.

It you go to the advanced pages in the modem, under setup and then configuration it will show you what it "thinks" your location is. It will be shown as VSAT longitude and latitude, in degrees and minutes. Does that match your real location?
