If you can't get the D2 to pass the location (you can always hit search to peak up, since it is right when you hit search that the location is passed) then you need to do the same thing tripod users do. The program for that is DSSatTool.

The controller either works correctly or it doesn't. You can't make it work correctly. It is entirely possible that it will work correctly most of the time, which is why I suggested just hitting search again. It is also possible that it has stopped working correctly completely. In the latter case you have two options: switch to your other controller, or manually set the position (DSSatTool).

Its job is to tell the modem its lat/long. Take a look at the explanation at http://www.datastormusers.com/dssattool.cfm

No, it will load into the Start/Programs where you can select it as needed
to run.
You plug the HN7000s Ethernet port into your computer OR connect it up to a
wireless router with your computer assigned to it as well.
You open DSAT Tool and enter the Hughes satellite you are assigned and enter
your GPS location where you are setting up. I use other mapping software on
my computer that has a location sensor with an illustration of the Lat-Long
when you put your mouse over the map location where you are located.
You then click "Set Lat-Long" and the tool will converse with the HN7000s
and update it as to the satellite you want to be on and then do a reboot.
In addition DSat tool will list the AZ, EL and SK to be used with the
antenna when tuning in the satellite.
Is there other ways to do this? .... yes. But, this is the simplest way IMHO
Other steps are need once you tune in the bird on the HN7000s but DSat tool
gets you started.

It just handles issues with new firmware for 9000 users. Since the 9000 is used for "slow-speed Gen4" it needs to monitor "anytime" and "bonus" bytes - for traditional 9000 users the bonus is unlimited, but for anybody with any sort of Gen4 account there is no unlimited nighttime period anymore. Unknown if there will be changes for the 7000 in the future.

If you can't get the D2 to pass the location (you can always hit search to peak up, since it is right when you hit search that the location is passed) then you need to do the same thing tripod users do. The program for that is DSSatTool.
