I'm on Sat 91 and am located in Northern Maine and headed north. 100 miles south, things worked fine. But now I'm getting I'm getting 5 lights ok, but soon after an error 10 message (Can't communicate with the NOC). Are those symtoms you'd expect at the edge of your footprint or is it more likely I have a transmitter gone bad. The footprint maps I'm familiar have disappeared and I haven't been able to locate current ones.

Rare to get 5 lights with an error 10, normally only 3. I have all of the footprints in the Glossary at DatastormUsers.com, and 91 shouldn't be a problem yet.
10 is frequently due to a bad lat/long setting; I would re-do that as a first step, then force range.

Thanx. I wasn't very clear. I get five lights and everything looks go. Then in a little while, transmit and system go out and the control panel provides an error 10 message. Lat/lon was verified by two gps units but I didn't attempt to range. I'll be at sea for a week but will do that first thing when I get back.

One thing to check is to see that the Lat/Lon in the modem is actually what you think it is. Configuration/Configuration Params shows where the modem "thinks" it is located.
