The PhD Defense of Noman Islam, a PhD Student of FAST-NU (Karachi Campus), is going to be held inshaALLAH at the FAST-NU City Campus (Karachi) on Saturday, 2nd February, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The event will be broadcasted to other FAST-NU Campuses through video conferencing.
Mr. Noman's PhD is concerning the management of data in Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANET), an infrastructure-less network formed between a set of mobile nodes. For this, a framework called ALADIN has been proposed which utilizes cross-layer operations, inbuilt data associations and multi-level semantic data management to present a unique solution to data management. The various experiments performed on the data show the improvement in latency, hit ratio and scalability achieved by using the proposed techniques.
