[pakgrid] Online Education for Developing Contexts: ACM Student Magazine Article

Asalam alaikum all,

There has been much hype around online education initiatives such as Coursera, Udacity and EdX and many emails regarding these platforms were sent on this mailing list too. I was recently invited by ACM Student Magazine to share my thoughts for their special issue on Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICTD): they wanted my opinion as to how online education initiatives can help the developing world and wished to know something from a Pakistani perspective. As there was quite some discussion around the topic of online education and how we can benefit from them on this group so I would like to share my perspective with all of you.

If you have ACM access you can find the article here:

Else, I have uploaded for those without ACM access:

Thoughts are welcome.
