Dear Nawaz and all;

Thank you for your response. indeed i deactivate the DTX in One cell with bad
FER and after one day, it was the same as before.

When we Asked HW about this problem, they said that it impact just PS service
not the CS service. i'm not sure if their response is true 100% or not, if

anyone has any idea about this will be great and also i'm still looking for the
rate from which we can judge the FER is Bad.

Dear Samir,
- FER does impact the voice quality. Increased FER will lead to voice break as
more frames are being erased.
- If DTX is being used, even 100% FER is not bad (obviously that shouldn't be
for too long or RLT timer will expire and call will eventually drop). For
non-DTX case, the more FER increases, the worse the voice quality becomes.
- FER may increase as BER increases because there are more chances of critical
bits being in error. And BER increases due to interference or low RxLev.

In Our network We Use HW equipement (BSC 6900 and BTS 3900 and BTS 3900A).
Recently we have a problem with Frame error Rate (FER) , especially when we use
2 E1 in a BTS with 1800 cell. my Questions are:

- Does FER impact the Quality of voice?

- From which Rate of FER we can say that FER is Bad?

- Does Anyone have an idea from the sources of this Problem?

If there is no RBS down and alarm is continously appearing then it could be
either be a problem with alarm cable issue or  OSS issue , it should be
suppressed in OSS , if the alarm cable is OK.

is continuously OML fault occurring in a single or multiple TRXs. 

Though, I have given reset to RBS and it disappeared yet it appeared after few
minutes.

Can anybody tell me how to resolve this issue? 

Why this type of internal alarm occurs?

Waalikum Aslaam,

As for as my understanding....Some of the TRX are not getting LAPD or OML resources form OMC. Check form OMC to resolve the issue. Resetting a device is not a permanent solution. Also check KPI status of that specific TRX or sector. In this way you can better evaluate the nature of fault that either it is service effecting or not.

Probably this issue seems from OMC end.
