Dear All,
IBM academic Initiative team has organized a three hours (9:00 - 12:30) workshop in NUST SEECS - RIMMS Seminar Hall on Friday, 23rd December 2011. NUST is an active academic partner of IBM and both have collaborated for many successful academic activities for students.
The workshop is intended to discuss cloud computing, its service and deployment models, cloud SLAs, and industry landscape. The workshop has a particular focus on how enterprise clouds are different and distinct from public clouds, and what are the challenges and benefits of enterprise clouds.
All relevant students from ANY university are encourage to attend this FREE of cost workshop. Interested students need to fill the form attached. (students who have registered with Dr. Raihan are required to fill the form also)
About the speakers:
Mr. Salman Baset is working as a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, New York. His current research at IBM is focused on over subscription of physical machines' resources, automation of software and operating system updates in the cloud, and cloud service level agreements. . He is also involved with the SPEC OSG working group and is leading discussions to provide recommendations for a cloud benchmark. Salman received the Young Scholars Award in 2008 and a best paper award at IPTCOMM in 2010.
Mr. Raihan Ur Rasool is a very well known professor in NUST. He has written many papers and many of his articles have been published in many national and international journals/conferences.
Mr. Muhammad Karim is a NUSTian . Currently he is the Cloud sales leader in IBM Pakistan.
Mr. Yaqub Ahsan is an IT Architect. One of his focus areas is designing Cloud solutions for enterprise clients. He has been certified by The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) architecture board and is also a certified IBM Infrastructure Systems Architect.
