We are pleased to announce that a two day Research Camp is being organized by National ICT R&D Fund, Islamabad inUniversity of Engineering and Technology, Lahore for evaluating all research proposals and ideas that faculty and researchers from the region plans to bring forth.  The camp secretariat will work at Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, UET, Lahore on the occasion of 5thInternational Conference on Open Source Systems and Technologies (ICOSST-2011) and associated workshops (OSSW-2011) to be held from 22-24 December, 2011.  National ICT R&D Fund proposal evaluation department will hold the camp on 23rd and 24th December, 2011 from 9:00AM to 5:00PMMr. Ahmed Afzal, GM Solicitation & Evaluation will be the focal person for these meetings (ahmed.afzal@ictrdf.org.pk, cell # 0302 8553 666).

National ICT R&D Fund was established by MoIT in 2007 to transform Pakistan's economy into a knowledge-based economy by promoting efficient, sustainable, and effective ICT (IT and Telecommunications) initiatives through synergic development of industrial and academic resources. The organization has significant funds available for proposals that are geared towards creating ICT related technologies. Collaborative efforts between academia, research institutions, and industry are greatly encouraged to ensure that local economy can reap the monetary benefits of investment in research.

Kindly encourage your researchers, developers, Mphil/PhD students, faculty/staff members to take full advantage of this unique opportunity by submitting their research proposals and meet with ICT Fund Members.  Application form for the research proposal can be downloaded from ICT Fund websitehttp://www.ictrdf.org.pk/  

Conference registration is not required to participate in Research Camp.  However, on recommendation of ICT Fund evaluation staff, those participants who bring forth reasonably good proposals or ideas will get free registration for the conference.
