Software engineer is required to develop in-house software solutions using

Software engineer is required for doing R&D in collaboration with

Dear All,

IPv6 is the next generation internet protocol aimed at removing some of
the bottlenecks associated with older version IPv4. IPv6 adoption is not
going to be an overnight venture. It is a widely accepted fact that IPv4
and IPv6 are going to co-exist for a number of years. A significant amount
of research is being carried out in the area. Having realized its
importance, we at SEECS have formed an IPv6 Research Group.

Current research in the area is mainly focussed on transition technologies
between IPv4 and IPv6. To make the whole transition concept feasible, the
coexistence of both IPv4 and IPv6 must be arranged in a practical and
simple way. As global IPv6 adoption is inevitable in near future, this
research group aims to investigate practical implications of running IPv6
on existing network infrastructure, carry out tests to analyze IPv4 to IPv6
transition techniques including NAT-PT, Dual Stack, and Manual Tunneling,
and study the effects of IPv6 adoption on network layer issues such as
mobility, multi homing, routing, and security. In short, we aim to cover
all the issues related to IPv6.

In this context, we are currently looking for an individual to work as part
of our research group. The candidate should

- Hold a BS degree in computer science or networking
- CCNA/CCNP Certification will be a plus point. This position will include
configuration, integration, and support of the IPv6 test bed which includes
Hands-on experience with IPv6 and knowledge of related RFC's
- Knowledge of Cisco/Juniper Routers, Switches, Firewall, Access Points and
Aggregation equipment
- Knowledge of NAT technologies as related to IPv6 deployments
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (i.e.RIP, IGRP, ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF,
BGP) and network security
- Strong knowledge of switching protocols (i.e. STP, RSTP, HSRP, VRRP)
- Solid knowledge of the IPv6 protocol, supporting protocols, and
deployment models
- Strong programming skills in at C, C++and Java a plus
- Socket Programming and Shell Scripting skills

Key responsibilities include:

- Working with IPv6 Team to deploy IPv6 transition techniques i.e. IPv6
Dual Stack, IPv6 NAT-PT, IPv6 Tunneling etc.
- Carrying out research in network layer technologies/protocols associated
with IPv6.
- Carry out tests to analyse IPv4 to IPv6 transition.

Gross Salary package at the end of the year if calculated becomes almost 40 to 45k per month including bonuses for management trainees. Its a Pakistani company, major shares hold by the fauji foundation.
