System Administrator (LINUX)

Skills Required:
Atleast 2 years of hands on Experience in LINUX/UNIX.

ï¿½ Design, installs and configures network and security infrastructure and the monitoring tools, including the core network switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPN, spam firewalls, network performance management.

ï¿½
Practical exposure to setting up subnets, DMZ, load balancers, fail-safe internet access using multiple WAN connections. IPSec hands on experience will be a plus.

ï¿½
Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet.

ï¿½
Experience with different Linux distros (e.g. CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD etc.)

ï¿½ Practical knowledge of webserver administration (Apache/Tomcat/IIS)

ï¿½ ISP style server setup involving DNS, NFS, DHCP, quota, email, webserver, virtual hosts, programming libraries, apache modules

ï¿½ Setup and maintenance of email servers (Postfix, Qmail)

ï¿½ Previous programming or scripting experience

ï¿½ Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers (Linux based).

ï¿½ Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff.

ï¿½ Monitoring network usage and the use of the web by employees.

ï¿½ Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.

ï¿½ Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.

ï¿½ Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.

ï¿½ Manages all system back-up and restore protocol.
