[pakgrid] Open Position: Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Glasgow

 

The University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK) seeks a highly-motivated and
experienced post-doctoral researcher to work on large-scale indexing and
search within social and sensor networks, based on the Terrier platform.
The position is available as part of the SMART project (Search engine
for multimedia environment generated content), conducted within the EU
FP7 framework, in collaboration with partners including IBM, ATOS, AIT,
Imperial College and the city of Santander.

The candidate should hold a PhD in a relevant subject, and should have a
strong background in Information Retrieval, including working with
clusters of computers.

Extensive experience with data-intensive mining frameworks (e.g. Hadoop
MapReduce, Pig or similar), sensor data, or developing large-scale
search engines would be a definite advantage.
