I see I did not make it too clear.  I have a motosat mounted on the roof of my RV.  It does all of the pointing and adjustments for me.  I set the system to up the pointing for me me 3 months ago when I first set up camp.  Since I am boondocking I turn off the power when I am not useing the system.  IF I leave it on all of the time my solar panels will not keep the batteries charged, the sun does not shine 24/7.  When I want to use the system I just turn the power back on, I do NOT NEED to have the system to search out the birds in the sky every time because it has already been done before.  It used to be when I powered up the system the all of the lites on the DW7000 would come on instantly.  Now it may take 15min to an hour to make them come on.  Repointing does NOT HELP.  I called Hughes they told me to check the cable connections, if they were good they thought the problem was most likely the transmitter,  Since my system is over 6 years
old I can agree maybe the transmitter is getting soft.  ALL I WANTED TO KNOW WAS, WHERE IN EASTERN TEXAS, WHERE IS THERE A PERSON OR SERVICE FACILLITY I COULD GET TO LOOK AT MY SYSTEM.  I also stated if I need to have my transmitter replaced I would like to upgrade to a 2 watt unit.  It is STILL ON THE SAME BIRD it was programmed for.

There are a ton of different diagnostics that could be helpful. Probably the first things to ask:

What are the steps you use when pointing?

If you look in System info at your transponder (frequency) is it what you expect to see?

OK, the first question I asked was not pertinent - most on this group have tripods, so that is assumed unless stated otherwise.

The second question became even more important now that we know that you have an automatic dish. No, you would not ever be changed from one satellite to another without notification, BUT, you will routinely be switched from one transponder (frequency) to another without notice. If the frequency has been changed and you have done nothing about it you will match your described problem. Whenever the frequency changes (and you have to look at the modem's pages to see what it is) but you don't change the controller to match you will have the described problem.

I'm not saying you don't have other issues, but having an installer come out to change one setting (and which you may need to change a dozen more times in the future) makes no sense at all.

Hopefully, all those caps don't mean you are yelling at us. It might tend
to get you LESS help instead of more.
You might want to start here:
http://192.168.0.1/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=450
<http://192.168.0.1/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=450&PrintMsg=Ranging>
&PrintMsg=Ranging Stats
Scan to the bottom of that page and see what the Target EsNo and the Final
Received EsNo numbers are and post those here.
If all you want is a service call then I would call MotoSAT and ask them
where the nearest installer is. If they say to call me in Livingston, TX
tell them that's only my mailing address!!!!
What satellite are you assigned to? Have you checked to verify that Hughes
has not changed your assignment and whether that information matches the
information in your D3 (guessing) controller?

Thank you for all the past help. I have followed this group for the last 5 years and much appreciate the help. I now have a problem with billing- I pay my bill online- Hughes bill says I have $30.00 credit for jan-mar 2012 of $30.00 each month. I pay $39.00 online and within a day they take out $30.00 more without my approval. I call and they say I signed up for auto pay and I owed 30.00 so they took it. Philippines service lies!!! Beware!!!

What plan do you have, and when did you get it? There are no current plans that cost $39, although there was the stimulus plan that offered that price for one year, and then it would increase. Certainly no plans several years ago for that price.
