The Science and Technology Unit at Umm Al-Qura University-Makkah, Saudi Arabia is looking for a Research Project Manager. His/her role will be to oversee and manage the research projects of several research lines, liaising with other sites and institutions across Saudi Arabia. The appointment will be on the academic scale. If you are interested in this position please let us know ASAP. Responsibilities: § Funding: Identify new project opportunities for the research lines assigned. § Project formulation: Support in the definition of project goals, advise on project partners, preparation of budget, support on proposal writing and submission. § Financial management of the research line: Maximise outcome of research line within the available budget. § Project management: Liaise between project and funders; coordinate between sites within international projects; coordinate and oversee project reporting, keeping track of project agendas and deadlines; budget control. § Liaise between research group leaders, and other support areas (HR, Funding Services and Finance, TechTransfer, Communication) for the daily running of the research line. § Promotion of the interaction of research groups within UQU to increase interdisciplinary. § Training and workshop: conduct workshop to train research scientists and team member in project management, budgeting, reporting, scientific and professional writing, Microsoft project … and other area as required. Requirements: 1. Masters or PhD degree in engineering, computing, informatics, finance, accounting, MBA or experimental sciences. 2. Preferably a minimum of one year experience in research project management. 3. Preferably PMP certified person. 4. Preferably full command of Arabic and English. 5. Capacity to work with people from different backgrounds and expertises. 6. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 7. Excellent presentation and negotiation skills; and ability to present in front of an audience. 8. Ability to build rapport and credibility. 9. Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail. 10. Analytical decision making 11. Good computer skills, including knowledge of MS office and Microsoft Project applications.
