Cover for Feedhorn?

Some years ago we upgraded to a modem 7000S ... the kit came with a metal dish, transmitter arm and feedhorn. Was the kit supposed to come with a plastic cover for the feedhorn?

We have always used the cover on the fibreglass system (which is the one we travel with ... the metal dish will remain set up in our yard.)

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Sally

Even on the fiberglass systems Hughes stopped putting the cover on a lot of years ago. Most installers felt that they were more a good insect trap (particularly bees) than anything else. They definitely didn't keep the moisture out.

Hi Sally (and Gerry)

No cover needed. Most of us with the older set ups with the cover have discarded the cover. They are just a good place for bees to build a nest and don't really serve any purpose.

Have a good one!

Thanks Roger (& Lila) & Don ... we won't worry about the cover.

Guess we'e been lucky with the cover on the tripod system ... no bees yet!

Currently in Purcell, OK. And heading to CO 3 of June. I have a offset
