[pakgrid] Attention Faculty Members: ACM distinguished speaker program for Pakistan

Hi all,

ACM provides speakers for your technical events. This program is for very few countries and luckily Pakistan is one of them (Even France is not in this list).

Unfortunately there is no speaker on the list from Pakistan. Please find below the details how to:

1: Get yourself registered as a distinguished speaker
2: Invite a distinguish speaker to your institution.

Best

Book a Distinguished Speaker for Your Next Event!

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Looking for a way to put a unique spin on your next conference, chapter meeting, or event for your group? Invite a Distinguished Speaker fromACM's DSP program to give a talk, and share his or her invaluable experience and insights with your group.

Distinguished Speakers are top technology leaders and innovators from nearly every sector of the computing industry. Newly added speakers to the roster include former ACM president Dame Wendy Hall and Mukesh Mohania, an award-winning researcher who works in IBM India's Software Lab.

You can search for speakers by name, computing topic, or country. The DSP program provides complete guidelines for hosting a speaker, including arranging for travel, lodging, and social activities with attendees. Funding by Microsoft Research enables ACM to fund most of these expenses. Visit the DSP Procedures & Guidelines page for more information.

The program has recently broadened its scope. IEEE-CS and ACM have joined to share their invited speaker programs, to further the dissemination of technical knowledge of computing fields that greatly benefit both memberships. Find out more at the ACM/IEE-CS Shared Speakers Program page.

Participating in the DSP is a great way to give back to the computing community, as well as inspire the next generation of computing professionals.
