Five Day Short Course on Satellite Image Processing & GIS
16th July - 20th July 2012 | 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Research Group of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics (RGRG) at NUST SEECS is offering a short course on Satellite Image processing and GIS. This course is focused to provide both a solid theoretical understanding and a comprehensive practical introduction to the use of geographic information systems and remote sensing technologies for the analysis of Earth resource mapping and management. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- have a sound fundamental understanding of the GIS and remote sensing technologies;
- understand the basic principles underlying the GIS management of Earth resource mapping
- be familiar with the GIS-based analytical and problem-solving techniques for Earth resource mapping.
Participants will explore the following topics during the course
- Introduction to Remote Sensing & Satellite Image Processing
- Visual Image Interpretation
- Image Preprocessing
- Land Cover Mapping
- DEM Generation using Stereo Pair Images
- Change Detection
- Applications of Remote Sensing
Who Should Attend It?
This workshop is targeted for the people who have basic knowledge of remote sensing and GIS
Objective of the Workshop?
The concept of this workshop is Earth resource mapping using earth observation and Geospatial technologies. The objectives of the workshop are
- To understanding the satellite image and geospatial analysis
- To serve as an active forum to share information related to Remote Sensing and GIS
