Director of the Center for Information Based Management
The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a full-time, tenured associate professor or professor and director of the Center for Information Based Management, focused on data-analytics. The position requires an earned doctorate in business or a related discipline and could begin as soon as January 2013.
The successful candidate will demonstrate successful management and leadership capabilities, strong industry involvement, and commitment to teaching and research. Applicants should have experience in managing complex data analytic projects as well as the ability to successfully teach in one or more of the following fields: marketing, statistics, operations research/management, data science, and information systems/technology.
Core responsibilities of the position will be to establish, manage, and direct the Center for Information Based Management; successfully teach undergraduate and graduate level courses; and actively participate in a diverse, evolving university community. The director is responsible for providing intellectual leadership, building and sustaining a sense of community and intellectual engagement among the center's stakeholders, seeking external funding, and managing the center's activities.
