The Theoretical Computer Science and IT-Security Group at University of
Mannheim, Germany, offers

Project description:
===============
The PhD candidate will contribute to the research in the project "New
Methods for Operating on Encrypted Data", which is funded by the
Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst.  The goal of this
project is to develop novel methods and techniques that allow for securely
processing encrypted data without the need to decrypt them first. One
motivating example is cloud computing where such schemes would allow for
outsourcing data and computational tasks without the risk of data misuse.
The project combines cryptography program with techniques from other
disciplines.

Position description:
================
We offer a creative international environment and the possibility to
participate in internationally visible research. The salary scale for the
position is TV-L E13 (100%). There are no teaching obligations.
Handicapped applicants will be considered with preference in case of equal
qualification. Women are explicitly invited to apply.

As soon as possible.

Applicant's profile:
==============
The successful candidate should have a Master's degree (or should be very
close to completion thereof) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information
Security, or a related field. A strong background in mathematics and/or
knowledge in cryptography is an asset.
