IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center is seeking an outstanding researcher to join the Database Research Group in Yorktown Heights, NY. The group is currently focusing on novel techniques to exploit emerging hardware technologies for transactional, warehouse and analytical workloads on relational database management system. Superior enhancements in performance, scalability and availability are being developed through multi and many core architecture, storage class memory, smart disks and workload optimized system engineering. Seeking candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (or related fields) with solid data management background and strong publication record in related areas of interest. Deep understanding of database management system and hands on experience is strongly favored.
