[pakgrid] Postdoctoral Researcher Sponsered by US DOD‏

 


The Next Generation Data Mining & Social Computing Lab led by Prof. Philip Yu 
at the University of Illinois at Chicago (www.cs.uic.edu/PSYu/) and the Data Mining & Bioinformatics Group 
at Xavier University of Louisiana are seeking applications for a joint postdoctoral researcher.
The candidate will also be co-supervised by Dr. Wei Fan at IBM T.J. Watson Research (www.weifan.info). 
Our research interests include, but are not limited to, data stream mining, transfer learning, social media analysis and biomedical informatics.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on an exciting methodological research projects 
sponsored by US Department of Defense (DOD). Although, the major performance site for this project is Xavier 
University of Louisiana; the inter-institutional and cross-industrial research environment will provide vast 
opportunities to collaborate with top-notch data mining practitioners while solving real-world, 
large-scale, and challenging data mining problems.

The position is available immediately and spans to 2015. Salary commensurate with experience.
The preferred applicant should have or will receive a PhD degree in Computer Science with a 
concentration in data mining or machine learning. Candidate with a master degree in Computational 
Sciences will also be considered. Research experiences in statistical data mining are highly desirable.
