I am still using DSSatTools from Glen Simpson and Don Bradner (2007). The quick setup says to run cross pol but yes I usually get on line without it. I now have both xmit and rec but no system light. When I tried to go to cross pol it did not run so it has not failed. I installed new cables but no change. I moved the system from San Antonio to Mission Tx. only about 200 mi. I am not familiar with the Force Range that Barb mentioned. Can you give me more on that or any other ideas. Thanks Dave

Unless you are way off on the cross pol you should be online. Do you use DSSatTool to tell the modem where you are? A bad cable can cause all sorts of problems and it is easy to check if you have a spare piece of coax.

Wild guess Judi but check your power supply voltages... (the power supply
to the modem) I had problems like you describe and after replacing the
modem TWICE found out it was a bad power supply.

Go to the Advanced page: http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/ advanced. html
In the Installation section on the left, you will find a Force Range option.
Click it and then click to Start.
That will sometimes get the System light to come on, if timing is the issue
and IF you have used DSSatTool to set the preoper location.

I had the same problem last spring on 117. First cure I got was to point to another satellite (127 worked fine) and cross pol on it and go back and point on 117 and reboot after pointing not try to cross pol.
Later Don Bradner told me to go to Antenna Pointing and using DSSat Tool first and don't cross pol. I has been working for me ever since.
