The config file is just a small text file that is held in memory on your
modem. It contains the parameters for a select number of transponders on the
active Hughesnet satellites. It populates the drop-down menu of transponders
that is visible when doing the "Registration/Installer" process. If you have
a working, commissioned modem, you should never have to use that drop-down
menu.

Sounds like a good thing to me, on the rocks will work, depending on
what it is. I have
been running satellite internet since 1/2006. I finally did an upgrade
of the config file.
Hope I didn't screw up my good luck but its too late now.
