Here is another opportunity where successful entrepreneurs can give back to the community and encourage budding entrepreneurs (students as well as professionals) to bootstrap their ideas and lay the foundation of a technology business. First Startup Weekend event is being held at SmartLab (LUMS). The event is open to anyone who wants to participate: If you want to work on an idea that you may have, you can come, find a team, and spend 54-hours under the mentor-ship of seasoned entrepreneurs who can help refine your business plan and technology solution. If you are an experienced entrepreneur, come and mentor the teams on ideas that you like. Weekends come and go, why not spare one that can be life changing for you and others?

Startup Weekend @SmartLab, LUMS (17-19 Feb 2012)
After meeting global success, Startup Weekend (SW) is coming to LUMS this month. In this 54-hour activity, startup enthusiasts (developers, merketers, designers, and others) come together, share ideas, form teams, and launch a startup!
If you are a student or a professional and someone who ever dreamt of an idea of their own, SW is the perfect platform to lay the foundation of a credible technology business based on your idea. You work on your idea and we will take responsibility of feeding you during the event. What else can be better? You have a team, great. If not, you can find one at the event. Come alone. Come together.
Banking? Heathcare? Transport? Education? Government? Agriculture? All Sectors are fair game for the event as long as your business idea is viable, solves a problem, and you can demonstrate that a technology solution can be built around it. In 2011, 260 startup weekends in 67 countries resulted in 4000+ startups. There is no excuse to chicken out. Be there or be square.
