Re: [pakgrid] A very happy Censorship and Block to 50 million URLs - National URL Filtering and Blocking System

Faiz sb,

This is doable using ordinary server computers even for 40Gbps links. Doable is not really a problem here. Should be done or not is the concern.

Is this covered under the scope of activities of the ICTRDF? Can anyone imagine the computing power required to compare and block 50 million urls at a line rate of 10Gpbs, maintaining adelay of not more than 1 millisecond?

I guess we don't have better use of the amounts contributed by telecom operators. Hope they know about the freely available Hotspot shield and dozens of other similar products!

This may interest many of you to understand how FoE and an open
Internet is being captured in Pakistan. Feel free to be censored and
blocked soon.

This is what happens when corruption and only monetary interests drive
business and industry. Imagine the companies that will be contributing
to this process, will they be working in the interest or against the
interest of the nation?
