Dear Nouman,
There are thre way by which you can run internet on guest machines in VM8 by mapping your card config to VM settings.
1.NAT
2.BRIDGEing
3.Host only config
better you configure NAT with out configuring static ip i hope this will work.
for more info google is your best friend

Hello well i also installed Vmware Workstation 8.0 few days ago and installed win 7 and win xp on virtual machine. And i am using windows xp operating system. And after installing both operating systems on virtual machine when i log in to them Vmware automatically installed VmWare tools for win 7 and winxp. So I don't do anything it installed drivers automatically basically it automatically creates virtual things for your system like RAM, hard disk and VmWare Adapter ( which is needed for internet.

Check whether you have VMware Adapter installed and enabled aswell. Go to your Network Connections for this.
