RE: [pakgrid] Email marketing and ethics?

The solution is little complex but it works.

1)      Login to your gmail account , any gmail account you like to.

2)      Goto accounts.google.com, and here you will find add email address option; add the particular email address where you are getting spam.

3)      Google will send verification email to this address; verify the addition by clicking on the mentioned URL in that email.

4)      Now main part, open groups.google.com and you will find some groups where you never subscribed, click each group and un-subscribe.

5)      Then goto groups preference and select, don’t allow group admins to add my email address.

Actually there is a bug in Google groups which allow anyone to add anyone without user prior approval.

I reported that bug to google groups but no reply received.

Subject: [pakgrid] Email marketing and ethics?

AoA.

I am quite disturbed by many marketing emails from a company called eA****t and Brand***** from Karachi. This is very irritating, they are continuously sending marketing emails on the behalf of different businesses everyday from different email addresses and at the bottom of the page company name is mentioned with phone number and email. I sent 4-5 email to unsubscribe but no response. I even called the mention telephone number of the company and talked a guy but all in vain. He even denied to tell how they got email address(s).

I explored little and got that they have different packages (e.g 10 Lac emails shots for 400 PKR etc etc).

Defiantly they have stolen email addresses from somewhere. Don't we have any Cybre law on such a theft of Email addresses?

What is solution to cope with such a problem?
